AN WI – An Illustrator and Graphic Designer from Italy

Could you tell us something about what you do?

I work as a graphic Designer in a small agency near Bolzano. In my free time I work on several illustrations and begun to write stories. I love being creative and I try to evolve myself all the time. I just love creating pictures and telling stories to the world.

How did you first become interested in illustration and graphics?

Since I was a little child I always loved drawing. The first things I learned were from my aunt, an artist. But my love for drawing illustrations escalated with the manga Sailor Moon. It was love at first sight. From that moment on, I was drawing all the time to get better and better.

What do you enjoy most about what you do?

Everything. There is nothing I don’t like in creating new design or illustrations.

What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment i am working on pictures for #inktober2017. After that I have many other projects I want to realize. There are so many ideas in my head, but there is not enough time for all of them, I think 😉

What are the challenges in what you do, and how do you overcome them?

Every new picture I make, every new story I write and every new design I create is a challenge. I always try to challenge myself and I overcome them in trying to get better and evolving myself all the time.

Could you describe your personal style?

Do I have a personal style? I don’t know. My style is everything and nothing. I have so many inspirations and things I like that I don’t want to determine a style. It’s changing every now and then.

What is your present state of mind?

Strained, because I try to answer the questions in a correct and understandable english 😉

What music are you listening to at the moment?

I love rock music, especially japanese rock. So I listen most of the time to visual kei bands.

Which artists or designers inspire you?

There are too many of them 🙂

What is the purpose of art, in your view?

The purpose of art is to be art. I mean art is what each single person wants to see in it.

How do you spend your free time?

Most of my free time is spent with scribbling new pictures, reading a lot, listening to music, and I like being in the nature. So all in all there is not so much that I do. Actually i’m a really boring person 🙂
