What was the situation in which this photo was taken?
I was on my back porch with some friends, smoking and chillin’
Could you tell us something about what you do?
At the moment I am an at home student (due to my chronic illnesses) and I am pursuing modeling while I finish my schooling, as it has been a dream of mine to model since I was very young.
How did you first become interested in it?
I remember seeing Calvin Klein and Louis Vuitton advertisements in my mothers magazines when I was a very small child and wishing I was like them. They were all so glamorous looking, the definition of perfection in my young eyes. I’ve always wanted to emulate that confidence and beauty.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I love fashion, clothing, and photography, so what is there not to enjoy for me? I feel like art is the most important aspect in life, without art, the world would be empty and emotionless. I simply love art. It’s not about the money or the fame, it’s about sharing beauty with others in all forms. In my opinion, that’s what art is truly about.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m currently trying to get sponsored by a clothing brand to build a portfolio and to have the opportunity to promote a brands art. I am also working on some shock photography, but that project is still in it’s planning stage. I’m very excited to see how it turns out!
What are the challenges in what you do, and how do you overcome them?
I’d say one of the biggest challenges I face in what I do is trying to be taken seriously by clothing brands and other artists. Often times I contact companies or artists and rarely get a response which is quite disheartening, but I refuse to let that put me down.
Could you describe your personal style?
I’d say I’m a mix of a stereotypical metalhead and a k-pop idol. I try to keep my style consistent, but unique, I usually keep my clothes within the same 3 colors/shades; black, gray and white. I also love to layer and wear patterns to make my outfits interesting.
What is your present state of mind?
Chaotic. I’m always thinking, and at times, I drive myself mad. Yet I believe that my chaotic mind is what aides my creativity and helps me come up with new ideas, so I’m thankful for it no matter how much grief it has caused me.
What music are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve been on a music binge so I’ll list my top 5 songs (In no particular order) 1. A Prophecy by Asking Alexandria. 2. Generationwhy by ZHU 3. Nothing, Save the Power They’re Given by Being As An Ocean 4. Mad At Myself by Issues 5. From the Dirt by Snak The Ripper.
What is the purpose of art, in your view?
To make the world a better place. To combine passion and beauty. Art is what keeps me going, and without it, I don’t know where I’d be. Art and humanity walk hand in hand and I truly believe art is what makes life so special.
How do you spend your free time?
Often I am on Facebook or Instagram, talking to my fiance, working out, or doing something with my roommate/platonic soulmate Leon. I love to spend time with my dog Rosie who is a long-haired Dachshund and my Maine coon kitten, Opal. I also study history, one of my other passions. Anything from war, to serial killers, to ancient Rome, I love it all.
