Artist, Clown, Ghost girl, from Chicago USA @casperblaise
What was the situation in which this photo was taken?
It was just a normal day for me.
Could you tell us something about what you do?
I’m an artist.
How did you first become interested in it?
I grew up drawing and viewing the world in a very particular way, so I think I’ve always been attracted to art and art making.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I enjoy being able to express myself and being able to dive into things that interest me.
What are you working on at the moment?
Right now I’m working on painting more wearable objects in order to explore different types of surfaces to paint on, rather than just traditional canvases.
What are the challenges in what you do, and how do you overcome them?
In regards to the way I dress, I do get a lot of harassment and stares and at times it can be unbearable. But I always tell myself it’s worth it because dressing up genuinely makes me happy and I would never want to sacrifice what I love just to make things more comfortable.
Could you describe your personal style?
I really like to work with color, but in a more rough and aggressive way. However my style changes a lot day to day and I usually just go with what I’m feeling at the moment.
What is the purpose of art, in your view?
Art has a slightly different purpose for each person, but for me I think art should make you feel something and make you think, even if it’s only a little bit.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend most of my free time listening to music, going to thrift stores, and painting. I’m actually a pretty boring person.
